The least visited page at Renderosity.... ?

I think I found it.

http://www.renderosity.com/homepage.php?userid=357505

(It's Renda's homepage).

LOL.

I'm still wondering who the guilty party was in that fiasco.

I'm bookmarking that page! It will probably be one of those elusive links for the next "find the symbol" hunt

I think I remember reading he was unhappy about Renda's price. Was he also unhappy that she couldn't be sold anymore? Well, I guess that makes sense.

What puzzles me is that RPublishing still exists and sells items here. I would have thought they'd abandoned that "brand" after all the massive bad rep it got from the Renda debacle - I know I'm still vary of stuff from them... just in case something else pops up that isn't what it should be...

It looks like they buy products from vendors. Like stuff they could feel free to put on sale unilaterally.

Rpublishing is just Renderosity's "brand"  just like DAZ buying items from artists to sell to the community, Renderosity does it in the same way, and the creators are listed on the product page.  Most of the items are made by Bobbie25, Rhiannon, or Propschick.

I heard real Rendo fans STILL USE Renda. They just have to post their renders elsewhere

Technically, we can't force people to delete something from their harddrive or runtime.  So, who knows, there are probably people who have her in some form.

heh.
Rosity was actually quite good to me with the Renda fiasco: they compensated me for my time so it wasnt that big of a deal. i felt pretty bad for Rosity at the time, since their intentions were good and the whole thing blew up in their face.

just another lesson learned. the Renda thing was the main reason I declined on creating initial content for another new figure that has just been pulled from RDNA.

cheers,
Gabriel

me? no
i was unhappy about doing a full GND style custom morph on her and then the base product got pulled (IIRC because of CR2 similarities to V3) and all the buyers refunded, basically wasting a lot of my time.

but Rosity compensated me for that and then bought my morph outright to use as a new Renda default shape, which would have been pretty cool but then (if memory serves, and mine is horrible) they discovered that there were also some mesh dimensional similarities to V3 and the entire product was scrapped.

Rosity really cant be blamed for Renda, perhaps only for being careless of who they outsourced the work to. they spent a lot of time and money on her and got screwed because the person who they contracted to do the work took shortcuts.

if Renderosity wanted to pool together a bunch of merchants for another similar project I'd probably give it another go, but only if there was total transparency of who was doing what. I STILL dont know who modelled/rigged Renda and screwed us all, but he is still owed a tar and feathering by the dozens of merchants that put time and effort into her.

:)  They make really great quality stuff.  Not standalone figures, mind you, but clothing, hair, and jewelry props so far.
