Hm... considering making a film using Poser models in a real world setting so I pulled down an image from the internet and gave it a shot.

Let me know if it blends well (this is a photo but the actual flick will be HD video footage, the same principles will apply as far as compositing etc. but will need to add match moving for camera movement etc.)

How do you render a poser animation in carrrera?  Don't you need new materials etc, for carrera?

Wolf - Thanks for the link - makes it much easier. :)
As for the smoke, that's what I was thinking - it's a little choppy, maybe lengthening the frames or something. This is my first foray into combining CG against a non-CG background so I'm tooling around a bit.

I have another anim I will put up soon, another quick test but it's interior with the BG footage being shot with a pretty crappy camcorder (no HD) - and no matchmoving applied.

Thanks LatexLuv, like that name! :)

Flibbits, I just launch Carrara, go to File > Import and chose either the Transposer (or the Native Importer but for animations I like the Transposer) - as long as you have CP pointing to your Poser exe it should work fine, I've never had any problems (I'm using CP6) hope this helps.
