Greetings:
Currently I run Vue6Inf on a WinXP 32 bit machine w/2 cores. Only has 3 GB RAM.
Recently I put together a new video machine - Vista 64 bit, 12 GB RAM, Intel Core i7, 3 GHz CPU. Asus GTX 275 (896 MB RAM).
Something came up and I'm thinking of upgrading to 7.5 Inf, just wondering how much of a performance change could I expect?
Thanks to all in advance for any replies!

Well IMO 7.5 is a step improvement on 6, but why not wait for 8, that's out in like a few days time!
I currently have 6, 7.4 and 7.5 Infinite on my machine.
Quad core Q6600, 8 Gig RAM and a Nvidia 9800GT [1 Gig].
Injustice will be avenged.

The new i7 motherboards eat more memory than old ones.

i7 processors use 3 banks of ram, so for instance you could have 3 x 2GB making 6GB of DDR3 memory. Most boards have 6 banks of ram so I assume he has 6 x 2GB = 12GB.

Yes, Vue8 came out today, I had to laugh. Amazing. And good news that it's only $50 more than the Vue 7.5 upgrade.
Thanks for all your replies.

Well I did notice render speed improvements between each step v6 to 7 and 7(.5) to 8.
I don't have quantified numbers but I'd say oh 15 to 25% maybe, on scene etc, and on each step (v6 to 7 and 7 to 8)
varies a lot but noticeable improvements :)
Note, you mostty see that with Radiosity speeds. :)
