I just got a new computer with Windows 7 Professional. When I tried to install Poser 8 from my disks, it seemed to take a long time. When I try to launch it, I get an error message: "Application failed to start because the side by side configuration is incorrect." Anybody know what that means and how to go about fixing it?
Thanks for your help.

Try installing poser 8 SR1
or
Visual C++ 2008 SP1 Redistributable

Did you run the installer as Administrator?
ps copy the installers to the drive you want to install to as well as I found running the installer from another drive caused problems.
Windows 7 64Bit
Poser Pro 2010 SR1

Installing SR1 did the trick. I thought I'd have to fix the problem before being allowed to install SR!. Thanks!
Now, I remember adding my Poser 7 Runtime very easily on my old computer. Wasn't there an "Add Runtime" button somewhere? I don't find it on the Poser 8 Library palette.
Poser 7 and its runtime are completely installed on my new computer already.

Oops. Never mind. I found it. It's the Add Library button. I could have sworn it was "Add Runtime". Poser 7's runtiime can now be accessed by Poser 8.
Thanks everybody.
