Hi kids! OK- just uploaded a set of twelve texture templates for the latchworm! Actually it's only two templates, one for textures and one for transmaps, but they are in both bitmap and jpeg flavors and they come in 1024 sqaured, 2048 sqaured, and 4096 sqaured resolutions!

Hopefully someone like me (with either tons of me time or no life to speak of, ) will use them to make some nice material poses or redistributable latch worm texture sets.
I plan on doing the same myself.

Just talked to brycetech - and he gave me the green flag to invite other folks into the "Latchworm Evolution Program" - since it's a community figure and not commercial or proprietary, anybody and everybody is free to make stuff for this thing!

It's a terrific figure, and I won't see it die on the vine like back in 2005 / 2006  .

Here's the read me verbatum:

"Hi guys - Mugsey here once again!

This is a package of templates for creating image based materials and .MAT poses for the Latchworm Legacy release by Myself,
Brycetech, and AJAX.

The templates come in three resolutions of 4096 x 4096, 2048 x 2048, and 1024 x 1024 for varieing degrees of detail and resolution for your custom textures. They come in two file types: Windows 24 bit bitmap and JPEG.

They also come in two colors - black, and white.  The WHITE templates are for making regular textures and bump maps, and the BLACK templates are for making TRANSPARENCY MAPS - should you wish to make some parts of the figure somewhat transparent or semi opaque.

A multicolored groups guide is also included to show you the materials groups, but I don't recommend it at all for making the textures with directly as it was pasted together in WIN paint and the tolerances are not perfect, that particular map is only meant to show you where the parts are on the templates, that's it.

All in all you've got twelve templates in the kit. 6 for textures and six for TRANSMAPS. You will have to manually tell POSER or DAZ STUDIO where to find the texture maps once you've finished the textures - and for Poser at least, use them as image map nodes in the materials room for applying to the appropriate material groups. The texture mapswill not be automating associated with the figure's Runtime files if you just "plop" the texture in a file folder or
something. The original figure was made WITHOUT a Runtime texture folder and Runtime texture map association, but the templates do conform to the figure's UV coordinates, and can be used in Poser to be plugged in manually.

***If you create materials and MAT poses for the Latchworm, then although you don't have - I would ask you to at least consider making them freebies at Rendorosity or wherever. These files are free for commercial and non-commercial work and any textures that you make using them are completely yours, but please distribute the templates themselvesin a non-commercial FREE fashion."

***"Ok - just to clarify a bit - the figure was made way back when POSER 5 came out, and the new "trendy" thing was to shy away from image based textures and to fly with procedurals. As a result the Latchworm has no texture folder or inate image based Cr2 texture associations in it's Runtime files. HOWEVER, it takes to manually plugging in image based textures like a sweet charm in the materials room, and the texture template that I made using UV MAPPER
conforms to it's coordinates.

For those who want to modify the figure runtime file in order to create automatic Runtime file association with an image texture set. feel free to do so. This figure belongs to the Renderosity community.

Thanks - and have a super dooper day chickettes and duders!!!
