Does Vue 7 Fantasy work on its own or do you need to buy these expensive xtream programs?
Is it a an Addon?

Attached Link: http://www.e-onsoftware.com/products/vue/vue_8_t_pack/?tpack=fantasy

It works on its own (it's Vue Pioneer with some themed content, a commercial use license, and no logos aon renders). Attached link is to the E-on page.

Sorry, I am a long time Vue user and i know there is nothing better in it's class...not even close.

But forgive me for thinking this is kinda silly. Vue is becoming more and more like Poser I guess.

Buy a product containing character, poses, camera, setups, lighting and props render away and call yourself an artist...geez.

At work we call this the "press MAKE ART button". Still, it's nice that folks can be given tools to express themselves creatively. It's an age of miracles and nightmares.

More miracle than nightmare I'd say. Sure there are always going to be those who take any tool and their production will be a botch, but new technology and content libraries can be amazing in the right hands.

It's like the advent of low cost DV cameras. It led to an explosion of really bad films and really bad content on the internet, to be sure, but also it opened the door for a few gifted artists who could not afford to make something previous to this and the miracle side happened.

I'm using Vue since end of 2005 ... and i've never called myself an "Artist".

I'm simply a Vue 'User' - nothing more or less ... same a Poser User. a PaintShopPro User, a Carrara User, a Hexagon User, a Silo3D User, a ZBrush User .... and so on ...

I don't make money with my images and don't need to. It's just the pure fun of creating an image, born out of an idea, a vision, something seen in real life or whatever comes to my mind and try to come up with something, that tell's the story.

So for scenes like that i do make use of figures, objects or whatever, which are done by other ones, if they fit my needs. Why should i sit down and try to produce anything from scratch again (sometimes i do, if i need something, which isn't available somewhere or too expensive), if it's already available - so i give the credits to the producers of that stuff and for sure those authors are happy to see, that someone made good use of their creations, so the time they've invested to create those things wasn't wasted.

If it's Vue or 3DSMax or C4D or Maja or XSi or whatever program - they all need objects to fill their scenes - where those come from, basicly doesn't matter, if the produced images are good done with or without a deeper meaning ...
(There are people, they call themself 'artists', because they wrap up a whole building with some cloth or photograph thousands of naked people close together or whatever ... is it "Art' ?? ... maybe in the eye of the beholder, yes, but not in mine. So IMHO 'Art' isn't something universal, it's definitely quite individual - a matter of taste many times, too. So i believe, that no one on earth has the right to say and decide, what is rated as 'Art' and what isn't).

And Vue does a damn good job in giving me the tools, to let my visions come to life ... not as an so called 'artist' - no, just as a user of applications with great tools, to make life easier in working with them and enjoying what i do ...
With Vue and all other programs like it, it's surely up to the 'user' to do simple or complicated and detailed stuff, make use of available objects or create everything from scratch.

And why shouldn't there be Vue versions with special content, that gives people the tools at hand, who are interested in that matter, to just have fun in creating something 3D (they might have not too much time to spend, spending hours and hours everyday in front of the computer) and learning along the way, mostly without frustrating moments, to keep them going and giving them the feeling, they ARE doing something creative (anything, that will be created is something  special, complicated or not, detailed or not, meaningful or not, because before it's creations, it never existed ...).
