I think as larger size monitors (or TV's) become available, we'll have to go out and buy bigger eyes to watch them. Big screens are great, but you don't want to sit too close now.

As much as I would want one this size, I would worry about the dot pitch on these as far as graphics, modeling and render clarity are concerned at your size!  Looks like you have a 27" give or take and the dot pitch close to .3mm if not over.  Where as the fading CRT's and upper class 19-23" LCD's are in the .21 to .25mm area, which in my opinion is a big difference.  Of course though I have recently switched from my Sony Trinitron CRTs to  a pair of Samsung 22" Syncmasters, and surprisingly quite happy with them concidering how much I was originally against it. LCD's have improved over the years and curious on how this works out for you! Have fun with your new monitor!! =)

I thought the dot pitch would be a problem also.But it's not.I have a 22in wide screen and with my glasses(brand new) I'd still have to squint to see some of the small areas in a scene....not no more.Not a 27 in it's a 42 in.Turn font size up to 138-150 and i can read everything even with out glasses.(hell gettin old)Trying to talk wife into buy 2 more for me and a 5870 video card and run eyefinity....so far no luck.hehehehe.
Modeling is way easier for me  with this screen size jack the quality and anti-aliasing plus everything else to max it looks fine.Slightly jagged,way better than squinting.

 I too just got a larger monitor, the new 27inch all-in-one iMac with 8Gb of RAM. Bryce renders full screen look great and it runs silently. Problem is with 2560x1440 res I'm gonna have to re-render everything I have ever done to see it all in full screen glory...

That's why it is always nice to get in the habit of rendering to disk at high-res on all your images from the start, which is also an advantage if you want a personal print or if you plan on selling your art in the future. Not a Mac guy, but I would fair to guess you at least have a dual processor and you can take advantage of setting your render priority to high right before you render (Have to do it everytime, default is normal) and you can get much faster renders at the bigger size you want... and If you have alot of images to re-render, you'll save so much time!

I just bought a Hanns-G 28" LCD monitor here in the UK for £270....I was prepared for it to be a bit below par for that price (I couldn't find another 28" one for under £500), but it's absolutely awesome.  Completely blown my 2-year-old Samsung 19" LCD out of the water - brighter, sharper, BIGGER, and with a 3Ms response time.  Superb at 1920*1200 in Bryce, Poser and Photoshop.  Beyond words with Blitzkrieg!.  Seriously, a big render now looks like a wall-sized poster!

My self-build system - Vista 64 on a Kingston 240GB SSD, Asus P5Q Pro MB, Quad 6600 CPU, 8 Gb Geil Black Dragon Ram, CoolerMaster HAF932 full tower chassis, EVGA Geforce GTX 750Ti Superclocked 2 Gb, Coolermaster V8 CPU aircooler, Enermax 600W Modular PSU, 240Gb SSD, 2Tb HDD storage, 28" LCD monitor, and more red LEDs than a grown man really needs.....I built it in 2008 and can't afford a new one, yet.....!

I like your Antec 900 case, too. I have one and I NEVER worry about cooling.

Impressive.  Don't pay any attention to Bryster.  He still uses a 1992 model CRT that is so burnt in he can only work after dark with all the lights out.

He also thinks Mars is flat.
