Rename it as snow.mt5 or what you want, put it in your material folder, tweak the bump and the displacement and enjoy !!!

When I put in my material folder, I don't get a shader it stays a text document. Can anybody tell me what I'm doing wrong?

When you save it, change the .txt to .mt5 If you are still having trouble then it is your Windows settings. I forget how to set them. It was somebody here that told me so maybe they will come on and get you set up as well.

Thanks UVDan-The .txt was changed to .mt5, hopefully someone will be able to tell me how to change my Window settings.

My results with this look like what UVDan got; awful. Some more explanation of the settings you guys are using would be really helpful.

That wacro is cool. I tried it on a preexisting scene and some of the props looked great with it. The ground, for some reason, developed "cracks", but I'll debug that. In any case, results were much, much better than what I got at first. Thanks! Oh, BTW, I'm using PPro 2010, so the wacro must work in it, too.
hborre posted Sun, 25 April 2010 at 10:28 AM
IIRC, one reason cracks can appear is Min. Displacement Bounds set too low or zero when Use Displacement Maps is checked.
Benboom posted Sun, 25 April 2010 at 12:17 PM
Oddly, it seems to be related to the light, of all things. When I switched to the supplied lighting the ground looked sort of okay - at any rate, the "cracks" disappeared.
