Before anyone even says it - no, it is NOT MY MACHINE. It has ONLY happened in the Rendo freestuff, and has happened three times now. ONLY in freestuff, HERE.
My computer is free of scumware, spyware, viruses, etc etc ad infinitum ad nauseam. I clean it regularly and check it regularly.
So why am I seeing THIS on Rendo's freestuff area???

I know. I've never had it happen here before. But it's happened three times now.. and only here, soooo.... LOL.
I don't know. Maybe it's a false positive as well. I don't know enough about it to tell the difference, so I just killed the attempt. Should be noted though, that as soon as I clicked the abort-connection button, the dropdown options for what areas to be browsing in Freestuff then appeared... shrugs
I dunno what it is or why it's there, only that my AV clearly read it as a virus - three times - so I posted to see if somebody else has any clue. And maybe to warn Rendo staff that 'something' isn't right in there.

I also use Avast so I went there and put in your search term "christmas tree" which was showing in your screen capture...but nothing happened. What exactly did you search for? I saw capri pants in your image that didn't show up in my search...did it show you that when you hit download? if so it was the file you were trying to download that triggered the warning?

webmonster's site is broken (the gallery software used looks to have been reset to an uninstalled state), and your AV is either triggering on the word install in the URL of the page that is being fetched when attempting to load the thumbnail or the reason that the site is broken is due to a hack to insert a dodgy IFRAME.

I did a search as well and got different results on that search..and no virus alerts. Freestuff items are downloaded and scanned btw before they are approved, so Im thinking Noel is probably spot on with his idea about the thumbnail.

Annie~
Yep, I was searching for a Christmas Tree - the capri pants came up near the end of the search results. The other two searches it happened on were one for a watch, and one for a cage.

I figured it was probably something to do with one of the individual thumbnails or maybe one of the ads shown on the page, but if it was coming from one of the ads on the page, I don't think I'd have been the only one posting about it, LOL. I know the files themselves are tested before being approved, so that wasn't my concern.

Thanks for the info - that's probably what it was, then.
