fairly new vue 8 user.  i am wondering if anyone has any tips on rendering poser hair in vue.  obviously every hair is different, but i am getting some that take forever.  i am assuming that the multiple layers of transparency that are doing it.  will just lowering the trans. % speed it up?  is there a formula anyone uses to get it to speed up while still keeping the transparent layers looking good?

Anyone have any tips on what to do to speed up hair rendering?

thanks!!

generlaly for hair you need ot move the Highlights setting to the right of the anisotropic slider, as hair is nto a single soild smooth mass

highlights must be tweaked, usually highglts are best left white, for hair and similar materials you can alter highlght colour for effect (velvet, hair and some metals you can tweak highlights
for exmaple, red hair, you may make a highlight yelloqish for a gingery look, etc.)

and rarely, transparency as some trans maps are buggy but that's usually only old items

Agree about making the highlights anisotropic.  Backlighting is your friend too.
