Hi
I have Cararra 6 Pro and never bothered upgrading to Carrara 7. When Cararra 8 comes out I'm wondering if there will be an upgrade price from 6 to 8. The reason I'm asking is that Cararra 7 is on sale at the minute. On the Daz site there is only an upgrade from Cararra 6 to Carrara 7not from Cararra 5 to 7 so will it be the same for the upgrade to 8?

Loaded question when it comes to DAZ. LOL.
They have so many sales that I have seen them do it both ways. It's a crap shoot with DAZ sales.
It's a question we all ask ourselves everytime before we push the purchase button. The good news is they do have that 30 day money back if it comes up better in that time frame.
So how long before C8 even gets released. Is it worth getting C7 till then and how much do I save on the upgrade from that to C8. I do remember when they did let older versions upgrade it came with extra price.
If you can afford the money now C7 has some extras that you will like now and then upgrade to 8 later.
As I said, with so many sales all the time, I don't think anyone but DAZ could answer that question and maybe not

DAZ is real good about taking care of it's customers IMHO, something I wish EON would learn!!! I got Carrara 5 Pro in 3D World Magazine for $17, then upgraded to 6 Pro for $88, then upgraded to 7 Pro for $68. It is much less to continue upgrading when they put in on sale for members then to buy it off the shelf, so to speak!!!

I doubt there will be an upgrade path except initially where there is a window to go to 7 then 8. They pretty much only do the one version upgrade. They can have other promos. You can bet they will try to get you to get on the PC club.
No need to think outside the box....

Thanks for the advice guys. I think I'll just sit it out and see if they reduce the price of C7 nearer the release of C8. I'm not in any real hurry...

Thelby, Thats only for Platinum members- for the rest of us the sale price is $149. I'd say they'll do a special price nearer release date
