Ulla...what a great idea. This thread is going to be fun to watch develope. Love what you've done with your husband's colorful ties. My ties, http://www.renderosity.com/mod/gallery/index.php?image_id=2003992&comment_page=1#comments" were all forgotten and hiding under newer more traditional ties on my tie rack.

Maybe those with no ties of their own...could check out relatives and friends the next time they meet?

I use to work at a Van Heusen Store that sells men's dress shirts and business ties. We were encouraged to wear ties to show them off, so I would always pick up the ones I liked when they were on the "clearance" rack for a couple of dollars. Before you know it, I had quite a collection!
Sorry to say that some of my favorite ones are no longer in my possession, since my son got a job at a bank and needs to wear a tie, he took a few of the animal ties I had. One was a very colorful parrot tie and another has a wolf on it (my personal favorite). Gee, I don't know why he didn't want any of the floral ones???? LOL :P I don't wear them anymore, but they are pretty to look at!
Oh yeah, the floral ties are cotton and the other two are silk.

Kim, great looking ties. I rather shot my silver bullet with my gallery upload 2-3 weeks ago but I think it is great that you have a love for colorful ties too. Can you imagine your son wearing the pink floral in the bank? lol. Silk ties feel especially great don't they!

Ulla, since we live in snow country, anything tropical is worn in hopes of warmer weather! Several restaurants in town have Hawaiian shirt day, where all the waiter and waitresses wear tropical shirts and customers that come in wearing something tropical get a 10% discount! So needless to say, the tropical tie went over big at the bank.
Bill, like a lot of men, my son hates wearing a tie, but he has to. He would much rather be in a t-shirt. So the thought of wearing a tie that would bring any attention to himself..... especially floral, that could start any form of harassment...... ain't gonna happen! LOL :P
