The specs aren't bad but I'm once again constantly irritated by Photoshop's insistance at opening images in a "glued on fashion" like this:

I've tried tweaking preferences but I can't remember what you do to correct it - can anyone help?

Edit > Preferences > Interface > uncheck "Open Documents as Tabs"
That should do it if you want it to automatically open like that.
With the tabbed view you can always drag a tab to open as it's own window. Which you probably already know but new to me.
Going from CS to CS4 a week and a half ago, I've had to go through the preferences a lot.

dreamer101,
thanks very much.
Drag a tab? Not sure what you mean by that - I'll have to investigate...

If you have tabbed documents you can drag a tab down. It will break it away from the tab docking area creating it's own window. You can also do the reverse. If you have all separate windows you can drag window up until it docks back as a tab.

Oh I see, well in that case that's what I was doing to separate the images, now I know what it's called. Thanks.
