Hi Folks,
It's time to put a few more colored pixels on the screen ...
... this time for Poser 8.
Are you new to Poser or are you upgrading from a previous version, e.g., P6 or P7?
Not to worry, we will try to cover the basics for both of these cases.
Please stay tuned ...

No, or not likely. If your firewall is blocking the communication, then it will still block it.
If your library is slow to load, I've already improved that. Fixed? Not sure. We're in beta.

@ bagginsbill - This new Library interface is coming for Poser Pro 2010, but not for Poser 8, correct?
THIS library looks totally usable. If this had been in Poser 8, I wouldn't have got a refund and I'd still be using it.
While the old Library Palette in Poser Pro may be flawed, and the Tree View in it gets flakey with a few hundred gigs worth of Runtime, it is USABLE with my workflow. And my runtime. These shots of your new Library are looking great, and both rows and columns of multiple items, very usable. The Tree View is great for speedy navigation.
I'm looking forward to seeing PP2010, thanks to all of YOUR info here!

Will the new library still rely on IE and Flash? I hope not. IE and Flash can change on a whim and you can bet they won't take Poser's functionality into consideration.
Is there something prohibitively difficult about programming a Poser library that doesn't rely on IE and Flash?

Always enjoyable reading through your Poser Learning. Could you please do something with "Dependent Parameters"? Ryan moves his right hand and Alyson kneels down etc etc........

Btw, did you know that the UI dots do not only save the location of Poser's UI components but also those of other WxPython scripts?

But not what i was looking for. Looking for more of a Tutorial on how to use Dependent Parameters. ie teaching it to use one object's actions to effect the movements of another object's actions.

Dr. Geep you are and have been for a long time the Poser World's National Treasure!
My Poser 8 should be here this weekend and I can't imagine looking at it without you to guide me . Thank you so much!
Any thoughts to a new CD which would add 7 and eventually 8 to WackyWorld? When I can't do Poser for awhile I am glad I still have my original WW CD to pull out and remind me of forgotten things. Would love to eventually have a complete set. Just a thought... :-)

Just came across this thread- wow, I learned a few new things.
By the way, if you've got a dual-monitor system, it's really handy to float all the windows on one screen and leave the document/preview pane on the other screen- as large as possible.
If you don't have a dual-monitor system, this may be just your excuse to upgrade to one.
