When I click on the Victoria 3.2 Base icon, I get Andy instead of Victoria:
Where I have it installed:
X86/ Smithmicro/Poser8. The instructions state that the icon is located Figures/DAZ People.
It's not, what is listed under Figures is the folder Repose, default.figure, reposeReferenceFigure, StdGimbals, StdHierachy and walkDesignerFigure.
I find something under Libraries/Character/DAZ People-a default shaded icon labeled Vicgtoria 4.2, Victoria 3.2dsb, and a color icon of Vicgtoria 4.2 (which is a png image-12.8KB 91x 91 size)
When I clik on the standard default (arms stretched out legs spread "icon" labeled Victoria 4.2. Clicking on that, I get "Andy" and Victoria 4.2 doesn't look anything like Andy.
Additionally there are two other downloads, one is for poses, the other is a Victoria4 PwrLoader.
What did you folks do to correct the problem--PS downloading it to Poser 5 - get error message (which I expected since it states that one must have Poser 6 or higher.
Is it possible that V4.2 doesn't recognize Poser 8 - Vue 7 for example can't import Poser files. Jan

Did you run the Update Victoria 4.2 after installation? There should be an icon on your desktop.

Hi Hborre, yeah about 19 times, just after I downloaded and installed all three files. That little puppy opens and closes so fast I can't read what is happening. Andy still comes up right nice and proper in the place of V4.2. Jan

I would navigate in windows to your poser figure library and find the V4.2 cr2 file . Should be in runtime/libraries/character/Daz people . Open that in wordpad and see what geometry file it wants to load. If that is correct then there seems to be something buggered in your library listings . Ma6ybe a refresh of that would help ?

Thanks guys, I got it, Markschum, by you stating that my library listings could be buggered up got me thinking "it should show up in my library??????". I played around with it, added the runtime (I think) that contained the Victoria 4.2 stuff. Didn't see anything happening until I click on show everything and it was there. Guess I have to doctor up the body NG texture and or do some freebie surfing or buy the morph ++ packs maybe. Again thanks. Jan

There is a skin texture without bikini in the textures folder, daz, milwoman. I have a nipple morph at sharcg http://www.sharecg.com/v/23525/Poser/V-4.2-morph , gives nipples without the Daz morphs needed. You still have to check the texture though.

Thanks Mark, got your nipples and they are great (yeah a negative number is really not a good idea)!! Now the fun part, searching for some neat textures--love that freebie section. Jan

Hunting for freebies, keep in mind that many will require the morph++ package unless they are texture map specific. Otherwise, the maps are fine alone.

Hi HBorre, don't I know it--some don't even mention that the morph++package is required.
If they mention textures, I download it just for the textures and delete the rest. Personally, if I go through the expense of purchasing the morph++ package, I can do my own dial flipping (that's the fun, "making" your own faces.
"Making" = dial flipping--don't have the talent to do faces via pushing the polys. Jan

Plutom, are you sure your P8 content is in the right place? It's supposed to be in My Documents/Poser 8 Content ;)

Hi Jen, The answer to your question is yep, my P8 content is in the right place. for me its under Users/Public/Public Documents-that is where my Poser 8 content stuff was automatically loaded too ----except for V4.2 which is the only thing in the X86 chain. V4.2 requires to be in the same folder as my Poser.exe file. I tried directing it to my User directory, but that installation program wouldn't have any of it-told me can't find Poser.exe file installation terminated. Have Poser 5, tried to install there, got the message error in downloading (which came as no surprise since it requires P6 and above).
Bottom line is that everything is working fine V4.2 shows up in the library under figures)-I just needed to click on all to see it. Jan

The work around the missing exe file is to create a dummy Poser.exe with a text program. Place it in the folder you want your content to be installed. Works all the time. This is very handy with PoserPro. There is no Poser.exe for that version.
Plutom posted Wed, 27 January 2010 at 6:42 PM
Hi HBorre, after opening wordpad, what do I do from there in creating that dummy Poser.exe file? Jan
JenX posted Wed, 27 January 2010 at 9:19 PM
All you have to do is save the empty document as Poser.exe, and you're done ;)
