I'd like to know if any of you people have any ideas or tips on how i can add more detail to my cargo ship and where.

I'm using wings3D/ Bryce 5.

It's hard to say because you are using wings to model...right..?
You could use some Bryce objects and materials to add details...   the side walls on the front are asking for some details like panels..

Pakled has a great tut here using wings

from the texture side - try reducing the scale of it.

Looks a bit stone at the moment

panelling, perhaps revise that texture, break up those large corners, radio dish, attenae, lateral thrusters, docking clamps. just a few options. look forward to update.

I'm sure there are some freebies available - even though this entire thread is heretical.

i like your update. you may want to check your lighting, or wether the material is too ambient, i would expect to see shadows from your greebles and the Sat dish? looking forward to update.
