(and yes I DO have Vernors in the refrig right now, lol)
Are you aware that Jeff Foxworthy is now picking on Michigan ? Read on. (Pretty funny and accurate!!)
If you consider it a sport to gather your food by drilling through 18 inches of ice and sitting there all day hoping that the food will swim by, you might live in Michigan ..
If you're proud that your region makes the national news 96 nights each year because Pellston is the coldest spot in the nation, you might live in Michigan .
If your local Dairy Queen is closed from November through March, you might live in Michigan .
If you instinctively walk like a penguin for five months out of the year, you might live in Michigan .
If someone in a store offers you assistance and they don't work there, you might live in Michigan .
If your dad's suntan stops at a line curving around the middle of his
forehead, you
might live in Michigan .
If you have worn shorts and a coat at the same time, you might live in Michigan ..
If your town has an equal number of bars and churches, you might live in Michigan .
If you have had a lengthy telephone conversation with someone who dialed a wrong number, you might live in Michigan .
You know you're a true MICHIGANIAN/MICHIGANDER when:

Ahhh, I miss Vernors.
However, being from Ohio, I 'm not fond of that Place up North-still hard feelings from the Toledo War...

I'm a Flordain (intentionally mispelled) but I found that pretty funny for the most part.
PS. If you like Jeff Foxworthy, you might like Earl Pitts.

I'm from Michigan originally, and even though I've been living in California for 50 years I still drink Vernors. (Ginger Ale) :)

I used to live in Michigan and the filling of pot holes with snow was a welcome event and it really does make driving smooth, one can put off re-alignments for a season. Jan

HA HA HA!! These made me laugh :P Mind if I rebut? ;)
Quote - 1. Hey, Mackinac is a direct shot up 75 :P
- Of course! You know how many highways have speeds varying from 35 to 75? Mileage tells me nothing! :P I do know it takes 1 hour 45 minutes to get to my parents house, and couldn't tell you the mileage :P
- I am one of those people who have hit a deer more than once. And one was in a neighborhood in Ann Arbor!
- In my defense, I'm pregnant. I did that when we were visiting Florida, too, LOL.
- This is what snow tires are for, mortals!
- You see camoflauge EVERYWHERE. It didn't become a "trend" here. Camo is a way of life!
- You forgot to mention high powered security lights. And also a guard dog.
- I've known how to use them since I was 15 :P
- That totally explains my mom's idea of a garbage bag and balloons = a bunch of grapes....over and over...
- Absolutely! The worst thing the city of Redford ever did was pave my road.
- Actually, I call them "Sinus infection, floral allergies, weed allergies, and tree allergies"
- And, I DON'T have an accent :P
- To be fair, they are cute.
- Awareness means nothing :P
- Or Windsor ;)
- And they are sooooooooooooOOOOOOOOOOOOOOoooooooooooo good!
- My dad invited three fire departments when he tore (burned) down our barn. By invited, I mean "they were all alerted by the huge amounts of smoke".
- I did, until the breading started getting worse than LJS's!
19.Only once!
20.Not our new one :P- /nod Sweatshirt weather.
22.I can't tell you how many times I have to correct my (Arizonian) husband on this one. It's POP. Why do you think Faygo calls it "RedPop"?
23.mm...and it's wonderful!
24.I chug it!
25....and you know they're weird....(j/k!!)
26.not really un-american, just useless. Especially in snow.
27.Exactly ;)
28.And one of my best friends lives there!
29.Hey now, lol. I don't own a vest (Detroit proper is 1 block to the east of me). However, I DO own a shotgun, a rifle, and a 1911.
30.I laughed with my mom, LOL.

Born and raised in Michigan.. Live in Virginia now... When I moved, I hunted around until I found a shop that sold Vernors. I use to drive 30 minutes to buy it before the other former Michiganders bought it all, then Kroger came to town and I now buy it there.. I have a two six pack a week habit!
I disagree about the Seasons... that is the one thing I miss.. four distinct Seasons... of course, Winter is the longest (My birthday is around Mother's Day, and I remember one year my party had to be moved inside because there was still snow on the ground.) Here in Virginia, we only have about a week of Spring Weather and a week of Fall Weather, the rest is Cold and Damp or Hot and Humid.
The thing about travel measured in hours, I never thought about that, but I still do that and my wife hates it... Everything is measured in time, not miles.
The one I like, which is not really on the list, but one that some other displaced Michiganders and I noticed is you can tell someone is from Michigan if they tell you that they live(or lived) in Michigan, and then you ask, "where is that", and they hold up their Left Hand and point (unless it is in the UP, then they just say the UP)
