Poser creates a pp2 file which contains some geometry, texture info and the object pivot point and an end marker.  I dont know of any programs apart from poser that will create one

In Poser its a simple import obj, save to library, done.

This is a blank prop file: if you edit it with an external geometry file it may work, but without any way of testing it, I personally wouldn't risk it.

I assume you want a Poser file to distribute to people who have Poser? It might be better to just send the OBJ file. If you can export one with a good MTL file it should be easy to import with its material settings intact. Let us know if you want something testing.
