So I just upgraded to a new hardware with Windows 7 (Athlon II X4 630) and installed my Poser 8 there. Here's the problem:

  1. Each time I want to run poser, it always gives me the pop dialog box asking me "Are u sure to run it?" (something like that). How do I disable the pop up?

  2. Why Poser 8 won't use 100% all of the four cores I have? In the task manager what I see is around 30% to 60% only.

Thanks//

  1. UAC (User Account Control) is causing that message to pop up, either you can turn it off or put up with the message, Control Panel, Action Centre is where you'll find it, it's not 100% safe to switch it off though as it does actually provide some protection against nasty destructive programs.

Mine is switched off as I like to sail close to the edge of the world. ;)

  1. I bet you got a 64bit PC with the 32bit version of Windows 7 pre-installed.

I run a quad core with Poser 8 and windows 7 Ultimate, like Lucifer the UAC is switched off.
I rarely use Poser 8 to render though, if at all..

Only Poser's renderer will make use of all available cores and only if you set the number of threads in preferences correctly..

mine runs all 4 cores at 100%. Win7 64bit no uac. Threads set in preferences to 4 render in a serperate process. I'm building an i7 as soon as DDR3 memory comes down a little more (last time i checked 24gig was $2500.00 US) if you are on 32 bit, reformat and start again, you will be very very happy.
