are there any reliable fractal programs that work on a 64 bit system. I ask because my other computer just got stolen friday and I have the task of reinstalling, trying to operate and when they operate trying to save with them because of file errors. are there any known workarounds....I'll likely know the prog because I know of about 80 generators and their versions. Thanks in advance.

Thanks. I remember xenodream from about 5 years ago. Never tried it though I have downloaded it since the theft. I'll have to try that one for a spin

i know i have a 64 bit, and recently reinstalled uf5.
thats to say, my kid did, and although he said had some trouble, it works.
don´t know, however, if you can run a 32bit programm on a 64 bit computer and if he did that!
i found out that 64bit thing when installing windows7, and uf and xd both have worked on the computer for years.

To give you some insight Monica on a 32bit app running on a 64bit system; it'll run but will not take full advantage of the multi-threading capabilities of the processor. UF5 runs smoothly on mine but things like sterling and tierazon tend to crash and those were 2 of my favorites to run.

thanks for the insight, i did not know that, but i never tried tierazon and sterling.
i did try to run apo´s, but my computer kept crashing and i stopped with that.
good luck with the new computer, have it  tied up to your desk, so it won´t be stolen again, they could figure out you could be visited again....(ouch)
happy sunday, monica
