Hi folks

I'm on the verge of a of a nervous breakdown. I'm trying to apply a Muskateer Graphics' Superman second skin to M3, but I can't use correctly the mask node. Anyone can save my brain and post a node tree pic?

The texture: http://www.muskateergraphics.com/freebies/files/MGSuperman.zip

Thanks.-

Personally, I rather use the bodysuit.

Okeesdoekey :)
No images but you CAN do this.

Load up M3.
Go to Material Room .
See the Poser Surface Box. Click the button/plug thing right next to DIFFUSE (at the very top)
You will see a box appear that says NEW NODE.
Click that and a new box with a list of options. Look for 2D Textures. Click the arrow next to that and click image_map**.**
In those dialog boxes put the color image of Superman.
In the very same POSER SURFACE find the BUMP or DISPLACEMENT or GRADIENT BUMP or GRADIENT MODE and do the above.
For the image map place, this time use the node.

Or if you want pictures, go back to MuskateerGraphics and Click TUTORIALS and look for the MAT TUTORIAL (Its the only one) :) and see the explanation there.

Dlfurman: there are only 2 texture maps in the file, 1 image, the other a transmap.  I showed the easy setup in the material room.  I could easily create a much more complicated node tree for better detailing.

**@hborre

Your settings were that I used after writting this thread. With that tree the neck appears in** black**...

The transparency map is all wrong for the Skintorso.  I went into Photoshop and deleted the black neck area on the transparency map.  The image above shows the change and what you should get as a result.  Maintain the Diffuse_Color as it originally appears for tha basic M3.  Apply the new Transmap instead.

This is how it now appears in my preview window.  Again, I rather work with the bodysuit or texture your own secondskin.  For Superman, it is quite easy.

But my Superman is using a M3 texture. If i do your settings, his neck looks like chewing gum. The default M3 color doesn't work for me

And I agree.  The other work around is to use a blender node with your M3 texture to combine both maps.

Just that hell of combination is what I'm searching for... :(

Okay, this is what I worked out using the textures as provided by musketeergraphics.  It is not perfect, but is the best I can figure out.  There is a drawback.  The image above shows the new node structure I combined.  There is the new transmap included and there is a blender node driving the combination of a skin texture map and the costume. Unfortunately, the drawback is that the costume will not appear in the preview window.  It will appear in the final render.

This is how it will appear after rendering.
