I really need some help on this one friends,
I am working in Poser 8 doing using talk designer, I create the lip sync then I save everything. As soon as I chose to 'make movie' so it makes everything into an .avi I get an error message seconds later that states "error creating AVI file."
Can anyone shed some light on this for me??

Poser's AVI output is generally broken. Sometimes it will work, but it's
highly unreliable.
Always use the 'image sequence' option and then assemble the images
and sound with VirtualDub or some other video editor.

Ockham,
thanks. See its odd though because we have used the avi setting before and have never had problems with it until last week. For the past 3 days I have been trying to find info on to why it will not create the .avi file. and I am getting no where.
We did however create an image sequence and compiled it but I'd still like to know exactly why it doesnt work.
Thanks again though.

Are you rendering in firefly or preview?
I have discovered that preview rendering is broken if you are using an ATI graphics card.
The other question is have you tried another codec?

I did. I solved the problem. FOR some reason, the .wav files I was using wanted to open in iTunes. So as soon as I opened it, finished the install and registration and then tried rendering the movie one more time, the damn thing worked! Makes no sense to me!

Some codecs are sensitive to image size. They work bet with a standard video size like 720 x 480 or 640 x 480. You can try a different codec.

see there inlies another problem, I never get a chance to set the video compressions. As soon as I name the file and click save the error message pops up
