Howdy, I'm a bit new to Mac and wanted to know how exactly do I direct my files to unzip into Posers Runtime folder directly?  On a PC I would use winzip to direct it directly to the Posers Runtime Folder, however, Mac apparently uses a default "Archive" program to compress and unzip folders but doesn't allow me to direct it to the Runtime folder, it creates its own folder on the desktop and unzips there. 

Any help here would be appreciated.

I've never used it (being on a PC) but in the Content room there is a button "Install from ZIP Archive..." - perhaps that is of some use?

 Actually Bagginsbill, that helps.  I was a bit thrown off initially as it defaults to sending it to a "Download" folder (I changed the path to go to the "Poser 8" folder so it would drop into the "Runtime" folder as I usually did on a PC, but that didn't work).  So I tried it again and allowed it to unzip to the default "Download" folder and there it was in my library!

 While I'm still very appreciative of Bagginsbill's resolution, if there is also a way to install content via "PC/winzip" manner (where you direct winzip where to unzip the content to) I would greatly appreciate it.  I'm not sure whether or not there is a winzip mac version out there, but if there is a way of doing it with Mac's "Archive" program, I'm all ears.  

I'm currently experimenting with stuffit to see if it'll allow me to do it this way.

The default behaviour of Stuffit Expander is to expand into a folder in the same location as the archive.

However, there is an option in the Destination pane to change this so that it prompts you for a destination folder, into which it will merge the archive contents.

You can also use The Unarchiver.  It will allow you to have the files extracted to the same directory as the archive, prompt for a destination each time (ala winzip and winrar), or specify another default location.  It can be set up to be the default un-archiver in place of the built in OS X archive tool.

IsaoShi - Thank you for illustrating that usage with Stuffit, it helped bring to light another problem I was encountering during expanding.  I initially had the content expanding in the Runtime folder, only problem was it was creating a new "surrounding" folder so it was not properly installing, thus not visible in my library.  :)

Kuladen - Thank you for informing me of "The Unarchiver".  It looks to be the equivalent of Winzip on the PC, which is what I was looking for.  

I'll be using all three methods (Stuffit, The Unarchiver and Posers Content Room Install from zip archive) as I prefer to have more than one method of doing things.  :)

Actually, I don't use this method myself, because I don't trust all vendors to create the required folder structure in the archive for expanding directly into a Poser Library. I think I may also have seen the problem where it creates a new Runtime folder (e.g. Runtime-1) instead of merging into the target folder. But that may have been with a prior version of Stuffit Expander.

I always expand product archives (zip or sit files) into a separate /Runtime folder, save this to my external backup drive, then use the dittoGui utility to merge the content into one of my Poser Libraries.

I've come across that "Runtime-1" situation myself so I know exactly what you're talking about.  Can you elaborate on this dittoGui utility you use? It sounds like something I may be interested in trying.

It has a simple interface. I just drag and drop the target Runtime folder onto the Destination box, the product Runtime folder onto the Source box, and press the Ditto button.

This is all you need on OSX, it installs  poser content from the unzipped runtimes and fixes PNG files as well
