Came across this link below where Canon seem to be producing new software for the Studio professional who wants an all inclusive package to run the business.. Seems a tad steep to me but if the suite of programmes live up to the hype may be good value for the Pros'  out there ..

Canon will be announcing a program which will enhance the marketability of studios that use Canon EOS digital cameras, Pixma Pro and iPF printers, Studio Solution software and genuine ink and media.

So they are effectively trying to "franchise" the use of Canon products in pro photo studios...  sounds like "Photo Studios for Dummies" to me.

I have seen studio photographers who use the most basic software which is designed for one purpose:  Basic retouch edits (and add things such as vignette) to quickly output  shots of families,
puppies, etc. of the basic studio clientele.   One such photographer I know of does pretty good work for the consumer market.

Others may use PhotographersEdit, a company who will take your photos and return edited and ready for the customer prints and albums, the studio needs only to shoot the images and cull out the really bad ones.  (This company also offers webinars on various subjects a studio/wedding photog might use, such as Lightroom.  I "attended" one and it was quite good.)

It is all in what you want...and how.
