Am supposed to be photoshopping..not brycing! Ah.. well.. break time. I've finally put up the hands pix I was working on.. at that size, I don't see the slight glow on their hands that I made happen coz of the sort of dusky evening. Drat... Dusky colour hands coz of the lighting. It took me 4 layers of bryce renders layered in photoshop to come out with a good skin.. and then I had to change the hue to match the dusk of the sky. I've added a enlarged portion of the hands to show you the glow. comments, please...Rayraz posted Thu, 11 March 2010 at 4:11 AM
Awesome, the skin shading really turned out nice!
Personally i would make the hands just a bit less dimmed in color and the glow a bit smoother and les intense, but other then that, its impressive! Good photoshopping on capturing the dusky tones as well.

Rayraz..thanks to your help! Bless ya so much. I did try raising the hue a bit more..then figured out..nah..I liked it this dusky..
4 layers.. one rendered with extra high transparency, two with normal, and the third where I pushed the red in the transparency high. Layered them. and worked on them.. then once I got it working great.. flattened and then worked on the hue and saturation. I got the glow using the layer options. Yup..i kknow know what you mean by lowering the glow.. i could do that..
dhama..lol..!! You did see the render, did you? I just copied-paste the url on the gallery page..

ahh okay, which version of photoshop do you use? I usually avoid flattening things.. i prefer to use adjustment layers, because they are non-destructive (unlike filters) and instead of flattening i usually combine layers into a smart object.
That way i can always go back anywhere within my workflow to change things later on if i want to. It takes a little more organizing because you have more layers, but once you get used to it its sooo good to have the extra flexibility

btw..rayraz.. you know what i ahated about it though? the hand above.. the palms are daker. In the pix.. his hand is a bit dark..coz of the lighting. I hate that though and I cldn't get rid of it...

ahh okay cool :)
I dont know if its a problem that the palms are dark.. it brings more contrast and depth to the lighting

I love the hands. I don't know anything about Photoshop. Those fingers are seriously long. Whoever they belong to could be related to Jimi Hendrix. Random thoughts from my inner child.
