Hello

Can anybody please suggest any methods where I can smooth out the tops of mountains so they aren't so pointy & rough. Where do I need to go in order to make adjustments?

Thank you.

Depends how smooth you wnat them

To get something like the preview here, open the terrain editore and click on 'filter altitudes', edit filter and there change from a straight line to 'smooth curve'

After ok-ing out, also click on the diffusive erosion on the effects tab a few times

Thanks so much for replying. I'll give it a try now.

I sometimes edit the terrain (depending on what I have or don't have driving the terrain) and click the Paint tab and choose Touch-up.  Then I can Airbrush the tops of hills using a Falloff.

I might also suggest the use of the undo/redo tool in the terrain editor (a little like the "History Brush" in Photoshop): If you want some areas rough and others smooth e.g., use a function to produce the roughness, "Undo" this, and then paint the roughness back in the areas you want with the "Redo" tool (or vice-versa, smoothen the terrain, "Undo" and paint the smoothness back). You can also smoothen specific areas with the "Effects" tool, use "Diffuse Erosion".
