Happy Pi Day! If the daylight savings pixies have invaded clocks nearby, be sure they get set right... two celebrations at 1:59 and 26 seconds (AM & PM, two for one!)

I just luvs being a math geek.

It isn't Pi day here, but all the same... May your circles never be squared.

My daughters school had a Pie day.  LOL....

They knew it was "Pi" day but celebrated with a "Pie" day.
So they had a Pie party.

;)

I'd rather have the P I E ;o). I got depressed cause I woke up this morning and it was nearly noon. Tsk, tsk. My grandmother would be so annoyed...lol.

Note to self: don't stay up all night playing with computer when the clocks are jumping ahead or you'll be shocked how late it is when you wake up in the morn, er, afternoon...

Well, if we are being maths geeks (and there seems to be a pastry based side-thread developing above), why is it called Pi Day? Since Pi is known to have an infinite number of digits, the date and time point corresponding to Pi must be infinitesimally short. It's really spinning things out to make a whole day of it.

I guess it's like the New Year... while 2010 was really only "new" where I was for a fraction of a second, I recall celebrating long enough to drink, well... er, more than one glass of wine, shall we say.

well we still have the next Geek/Nerd holiday in May....

At least on Pi day, it's entirely appropriate that the room should go around in circles.

Indeed it is. 😄

My favorite quote about this quite popular irrational number:

"Pi are squared? Pie are not square! Cake are square... pie are round."

Now you made me choke. Pass the wine; that will fix it.

And besides, there is no spoon. That means you can't properly eat the ice cream with the cake, and that, IMO, is the best part.

I hate when all you get is a dinky piece of cake and a splotch of ice cream and a lame plastic fork to eat with so that you have to shovel it all in as fast as possible before the ice cream is too melted to scoop up so you don't end up licking the drippy stuff all over the plate and your mom starts asking if you were raised in a barn in front of all your friends and their making mooing and horsey noises while that girl with the cute freckle who said she would let you copy her homework but who you couldn't talk to at school because all your buddies would find out and then you'd never be able to--

Wait, where was I? Lost my train of thought...
