Subject: Why would magnets not work?

A friend is trying to morph a set of jewelry.  The Jewelry is a separate figure that conforms to another figure.  She's trying to use a magnet to reshape the large bracelets.  Each bracelet is a "forearm" of the jewelry figure.  No matter what she does, the magnet has no influence on the jewelry forearm whether the figure is conformed or not.

She had the jewelry's forearm selected when she made the magnet.
The jewelry forearm is not  locked.
The jewelry figure itself is not locked.
There are multiple material zones in the jewelry forearm, but the magnet has no influence on any of them.
Even if she adds all the other elements of the figure to the magnet, nothing happens.

She even exported the forearm out as an .OBJ and then imported it as a prop.  A magnet still had no influence on it, even as a prop.

I ran out of ideas.

Is bending turned off?
Is the magnet zone positioned to enclose the object?

Hi Phil,

I know the magnet zone was positioned to enclose the object.  In fact, I know the falloff zone was increased just to see if that would have any effect.  But I'll ask about bending and report back.

Update:  "Bend body parts" is enabled.

I'd be happy to take a look at the files if that will help.

"replace body part with prop" usu. prevents bending, for reason mentioned above.
the other reason is insufficient polygonal density in angle of bend, which would be
unlikely, unless cylinder primitive used.

I'm waiting to get the files from her.  I asked her about the polygon count and she says it's quite detailed.

What you sent me had bends turned off. When I turned bends back on the magnets worked.

Incidentally did you try to upload from a Mac or PC?

Ohhhh.  When you said bend, I thought you were referring to "Bend body parts" from the menu on top.  I checked "Bend" from the properties tab as shown and it worked.  Thank you very much!  By the way, I tried to upload from a PC.
