Subject: Help with realistic morphable angel wings

RalphMm ( ) posted Fri, 19 March 2010 at 6:58 PM · edited Sat, 23 November 2024 at 5:50 AM

I am a beginner with reasonable knowledge of poser and Bryce and have been looking for realistic Angel wings that i can morph .

I recently purchased Angelyna Wings and are having trouble with making them look realistic.
I am not sure where i am going wrong in texture area.
Are there any wings that i can purchase and load a saved poser working file and the wings are already set up with all the settings required for the textures to and morphs to look realistic when i render.
hope this is understandable and not too silly a question.
cheers
Ralph

Hmmm, the Winter Queen wings which came with Poser 6 ought to look realistic enough.  Don't know how to get them separately though - sorry not much help here.

Thanks for your reply
i am using poser 8 and have been buying my props ..didnt even think to look at included props.
I am using poser wings rendered at high res and using them with real life models in my photography art.
The ideal thing would be to be able to purchase a poser working file of the wings with all textures etc applied.
All i want to be able to do is pose the wings and then render them .
I can see myself working in poser for weeks trying to perfect them ,time i cant really afford to take away from my photography.
I am willing to pay for such a file if it fits my needs.

regards
Ralph.

Here's a list of 3 sets of wings that are available to purchase at DAZ.

V4 Creature Wings, a set of 4 different type of wings, including angel:  http://www.daz3d.com/i/shop/itemdetails/?item=9771

Feathered Wings:  http://www.daz3d.com/i/shop/itemdetails/?item=7086

Finally, Dreamer Wings, a more stylised set of wings:  http://www.daz3d.com/i/shop/itemdetails/?item=1767

Thie attached pic shows the Feathered Wings (with Dove texture) on M4.

I'll put in a big plug for the Feathered wings. They are the only set I've found that are fully poseable, from fully open to furled. There are a couple of dials for things like open-closed, flap etc., and others for wing shape. One note though -- when they are furled they wrap a big around the body (like a bird's wings), which means that they have a tendency to limit the range of movement of the arms. You can adjust this by adjusting the dials for the wing roots. This is important for rendering angels, because angels are usually depicted with their wings (when closed) projecting backwards, which isn't really anatomically correct for any winged creatures in teh real world.
