Hello all,
I'm having some weird issues with Poser 8 since a bit of time now. When I render and change the post filter size to a value of 3 or more, the render will start then block for a while, leave a whole part black and continue some point further in the render.
Anyone noticed the same issue?

not that, but I posted an issue similar couple of weeks ago and no one responded. It rendered nearly 2/3, then partial render part around the mouth etc, then finished later . The areas not rendered were pixillated..i was using IDL.

It is supposed to do that because Poser is using multiple threads. It will work on the black parts and continue to render the easier parts at the same time. Mine will continue to render until 99 percent complete and appears stalled with those black patches. However Poser is still computing those areas and will finish up in a few minutes. Jan

Hi Plutom,
I can understand this happens, but when Poser tells me the render is finished and the CPU goes to 0% usage, I assume he finished. I even let the computer render a whole night for a simple scene with V4, some cloth behind her and 3 lights with some fairly good settings and still nothing came out of it...

Try this, (it could be one of your third party add ons, eg hair, a dress, etc). Eliminate or make invisible everything except the nude figures. Then begin adding stuff until it fails and isolate what part of that third party stuff is doing it. Jan

Aye Pluton, but I tried a few different things, the only thing I know causes the issue about for sure is when I put the postfilter thing to Sync and 3... I'll post the results tomorow morning after a brief render tonight :p
