Time to upgrade to C7 or C7 Pro at reduced pricing, plus with the added bonus of getting like version of Carrara 8 (no released date set) FREE upon release.

Already have C7 Pro - have upgraded since C1 - Waiting for C8 as well - I'm sure current C7 users will get the same (equivqlent) deal. (Not free, but at a rediced price)

Man I just GOT C7...  Now I have to lay out even more bucks for 8...  When I bought 7 I had to buy 6 as well...  I don't have these kinds of funds to throw around.  I thought it would be a couple of years at least before they came out with 8.....  I really hope Daz3D doesn't leave us out in the cold...  Because if it ain't free, I can't afford it...

How long ago did you get 7 Sparrownightmare?  If it was in the last 30 days you could get a refund and buy again or talk to sales about giving you the 8 so you didn't have to go through the hoops

It's been over 30 days.  A couple of months I think.  SO I guess I am pooched.  If they give a discount, it better be a BIG one...  A real big one...

The part that bugs me is I have only done like 3 models in it due to some issues I have had with it.

C6 Pro to C7 Pro for $169.99 is still a bit out of my current budget.  If it drops down to $99 or below, I'll buy it.

Already have C7pro.  I know I say this at every version, but I see no reason to upgrade to 8 yet.  So far, the beta has yet to demonstrate any of the big selling points; the new physics engine, for instance, or bug fixes we've been waiting on for two whole-number versions already.

It's the 64 bit support I want, and the faster render times.  And I would love to finally have it take full advantage of my 4 cores.  Not just use them for rendering alone.

I just upgraded for $129.95 by purchasing the PC club at the same time. That's a $10 savings off the $139 upgrade price.

nomuse posted Wed, 19 May 2010 at 5:31 PM

What, it's out now?  Or did you join PC Club so you could pre-order?

sparrownightmare posted Wed, 19 May 2010 at 5:54 PM

Yeh it's out now.  Now I have to try and scrounge up a hundred bucks...  And before the upgrade deal ends, which is like a week before my disability check makes it into the bank.  They could have given people a little more time since no one knew when it was due out...

Well, at least I got paid for my last job already.  So I've got the cash.  I'm not sure it is worth it to me, though.  The changes to the modeling seem minor, and there is not a whisper about whether any of the outstanding bugs from version 7 (and 6!) ever got addressed.

Looking at the bug tracker, there is movement, but it is slow.
