I may be reading this wrong, but I was under the impression that you could Render A Movie "Image Files" in the background. I'm not refering to using the Que Render. I thought you could render in the background and keep on animating in the for ground.
I know you can que and run your animations that way. But If you can render your movies without them qued to a render farm, I haven't figuered it out.
Render to the Background for a single frame Might be good for a scene you are building that is going to take an hour or so to render. but When it comes to an animation it is useless.
Other than that so far I am pleased with Poser 2010,
