I'm in college currently and see if you are you can get an academic discount on poserpro 2010. Does anyone know if there is any functional difference between the academic version and the retail?

There are no different versions. You just get a discount on the product.

You're welcome. But I think you will find you can only get Poser 8 with an academic discount, not Poser Pro 2010.

Also you can't do commercial renders, but then who checks these days. I bought my Maya through school and ended up registering a full upgrade with autodesk for $1000 on a special offer so still got it less then the going price and can now use it commercially.
