I slapped fur over it to see what it might look like, but the model is very basic so far.  If I get it down, I'll have a figure I can use for otters, mink, weasels - okay, so far the head looks too big... no eyes, nose, paws yet.  It can't even breathe ~ no mouth!

Agreed, the figure needs a bit more refinement, but that fur looks spot on for the animals you mentioned.

actually you should keep that setup for later use if you want to create a cat because the head seems to resemble one at the moment. Just an idea (grin)

I haven't been working on it too much, but here is the third version.  Still needs some adjusting on the feet and head.  Heck, the body might need more once I test it with a rig and get it slinking around.  Mink do slink, ya know.

Yeah, those minks are slinky. ;-)

Another post of the slinky minky.  I'm having a hard time placing guide hairs in a specific place.  Can't see the poor mink's eyes due to the out-of-control hair.  I know I can add a texture map to shorten hair length to specific area, and that is what I may eventually do.  But for now I'm trying to finish the model and play with hair shape.  I'd like this model to work as an otter, mink, weasel, ferret, marten, and any other weasel-like creature... gov. of Texas, Louisiana, ex. gov. Alaska.  Don't get me wrong, I like mink.  Love otters.  And need help with the guide hair issue.  The guide hairs just pop up anywhere, but not where I click em'.

I couldn't help myself.  Still haven't been able to exactly place guide hairs, but played with hair groups a little - maybe a possibility there.  This little guy still needs teeth, paws, pads, and more more figure work - more rigging, and morphs.  I'd be happy to upload the model if anyone wants to play around with it.

Okay, I'm having too much fun and not really getting the model finished.
