I like how the new patch has sped up the library load a little but I am having new fun issues with P8. Deleting items from the stage is causing more frequent crashing and some new items I am trying to import will sometime show correct in the preview view and sometimes turn stark white.

Also, the Uvs I have set up in maya look like they have been SEVERELY scrambled when i put a pattern texture on it. I have not tried other items yet, cause well, I'm in the middle of making a product and am trying to finish. I guess I should have waited before installing "fixes".

Anyone else having new problems with the P8 sr3 patch or is it just me?

(don't even suggest contacting customer "support"....)

maybe it changes the vertex order.  send ratscloset an IM.  they might know something at SM.
kupa said they wanted to get the bugs out.  my plan is to wait another week or two.

Apparently nobody has the issues you describe.
And your remark about not contacting people who might know does not help

Giving information about the graphics card/driver and OS might give someone a clue what might be wrong regarding deleting objects. And regarding the Maya UV mapping it might help if you  include a screen shot of the render and the material room settings and whether this also happens with other imported Maya and other 3rd party object imports on your system.

Miss Nancy: Ahhh, the object that I thought was all quads was not. Each side turned out to have 5-6 sides on it, this is why the object was acting weird. Why it would mess with the way the object colors look though I have no idea. I cut it up manually to quads and everything is peachy with the obj.

As for the preview problem I'm having, it is only in OpenGl..... Sdree is fine...

wimvdb: I've given my info a billion times to "the people that might know".... These "people" have NEVER given me a solution and ALWAYS have said they cannot reproduce the issue. Even when 100 people in a forum can say they all experience the same issue, SM seems not to be able to "reproduce". I have found it much less of a headache and MUCH more of an effective use of time to just ask around here!! So, uvs are all good now but still having an issue with the Open Gl view.

Nobody having any bugs from the SR3?

Quote - Nobody having any bugs from the SR3?

I've not had any bugs with OGL or object import or display.  I do seem to be having some other problems, if you're just making a general call for possible SR3 bugs.  In both cases, a known bug from earlier versions seems to have worsened.

When loading any kind of insertion pose, I end up with double-intensity insertions, until the file is saved and re-opened.  The old workaround for this which worked prior to SR3 no longer seems to help.

When saving a .pz3, hidden actors will consistently lose any ERC they might have had present in joint-controlled morphs.  This is an old bug, but in this case, too, there seemed to be a workaround which no longer helps avoid the problem.  Actors now need to be visible when saving to .pz3, to be sure they'll be saved with functioning JCM's.  Which is a bit of a PITA with a scene full of Antonias.

If they're trying to "get the bugs out", it looks like they're creating new ones in the process, so far.  Unfortunately, neither insertion poses nor JCM's is formally supported by Poser, so these may not be actual bugs.  Both of these features are user hacks of Poser, and Poser is seemingly less tolerant of them than in the past.  Getting the bugs out may involve breaking some of the tricks we've been using to create more advanced functionality in Poser, and that worries me, a bit.   I mean, what do we do, if they break JCM's?  :scared:

Edit to add:  I had display driver issues with Poser 8, for some time.  What helped me more than anything was updating all display drivers, then re-installing Poser.  I still had problems after the drivers were updated, but Poser hadn't been reinstalled.  Reinstalling fixed most of my problems.  Possibly P8 needs to have the right drivers in place at installation time, or it will never be quite right.

Cage can be an opinionated jerk who posts without thinking.  He apologizes for this.  He's honestly not trying to be a turkeyhead.

Cage had some freebies, compatible with Poser 11 and below.  His Python scripts were saved at archive.org, along with the rest of the Morphography site, where they were hosted.

Ehhh, a reinstall? It might just come to that...

One new issue I'm facing at the moment:

I move the camera and everything in the preview window disappears, even the floor grid. I restart poser and the issue always comes right back. I restart widnows and all is good again until it happens after a render or 2......... no fun at all.

I will reinstall my gpu drivers, but I dont know why it would make ANY difference. If it was fine 5 drivers ago and yesterday why would reinstalling the same old driver help anything? But I'll do it anyway and see if it works.
