Hello,
I while back I brought a Poser figure into Vue and converted it to a Vue object (vob). I would like to now export that vob out of Vue but when I attempt to do so, I get a message saying that the object is locked and cannot be exported (Vue Infinite 7.5, 8.0, 8.5). Does anyone know why this is the case? I did not knowingly lock the object when I converted it to a vob file, and I cannot see anywhere where I can remove the restriction other than in the Object Editor and the "Forbid Export" option is not selected anyway. Since I made the object it seems to me that I should have control over whether or not it can be exported.
Any help with this would be appreciated.
Thanks for any replies.

Using any materials on it that were locked previously?

Hello Shawn,
No, the materials that are on it are the same ones that it had when I first imported it from Poser.

Maybe Poser is required to open the object on another computer then? So Vue is trying to save you from yourself? I'll check if the manual says anything.
ADDED:
The Vue Infinite 8.0 manual says no to exporting PZ3 objects. What format are you trying to export to? OBJ? 3DS? Or just VOB?

I have just conducted a test using Vue 6.6 Infinite and Vue 8.5 Infinite. I created a scene in Poser and imported the scene into both versions of Vue. Vue 6.6 Infinite will export the poser Figures without any problems but once the Poser figures have been brought into Vue 8.5 Infinite, they become locked and cannot be exported. Perhaps I have stumbled across a bug. Can someone else try this and see if they have any issues?

E-On's use of Poser has changed a lot since Vue 5. What version of Poser? I can't even get PZ3 from Poser 6 to import into Vue 8.5. Works great though in Vue 8.0.

I am mostly using Poser 7 but I do use Poser 8 a bit as well.

Vue 6.6 probably isn't smart enough to know what SmithMicro's EULA for current Poser service releases is.
