Has anyone else tried doing this? When I run PP2010 and Poser 8 at the same time, anything I try loading from PP2010's floating library loads into Poser 8 instead of PP2010. I know I know! Why am I trying to run them both at the same time?!? Silly me! Short answer is I like to be able to do two things at once.
I can still run Poser 6 with either Poser 8 or PP2010 with no issues, so why don't I do that? Well I do do that because of this library loading issue but I don't like to load Poser 6 so much anymore because it just doesn't start up as fast as P8 and PP2010.

I don't know why this happens - it isn't supposed to - Poser is supposed to pick unused ports. But anyway...
Find your Poser.ini. Mine is in c:/documents and settings/tczotter/Application Data/Poser/8.0
and for Pro 2010 it is in .../Poser Pro/2.0
Pick one - P8 or PPro.
Back it up so you can recover from this.
Open it in a text editor.
Find 11530
You should see:
FLEX_LIB_PORT 11530
FLEX_LIB_ASYNC_XML_PORT 11630
Those are the two app server ports for Poser Pro. If you have P8 SR2 or less, there will not be the ASYNC_XML one. If you have P8 SR3 there should be both.
Change both to one higher; 11531 and 11631.
Save.
Launch. See if that works.
Renderosity forum reply notifications are wonky. If I read a follow-up in a thread, but I don't myself reply, then notifications no longer happen AT ALL on that thread. So if I seem to be ignoring a question, that's why. (Updated September 23, 2019)

You know what, I frequently (not always) have problems where the web browser (whether IE or Firefox) prevents the P8 library from working - if Poser is started after the web browser it won't start at all, or if Poser 8 is started before any web browser then the library will stop refreshing, even if you hit the circle-arrow refresh button. I wonder if this is related. This problem kinda comes and goes, and so far has not been aggravating enough to really piss me off.

Thanks Bill! That did the trick. This will make loading and resaving all these 3DS files to PP2 file go much quicker too.

Yay! I wasn't sure it would work.

Well I edited the Poser Pro Poser.ini. I'm running Windows 7 Pro 64 so they were located under C:Users......AppDataRoamingPoser Pro2.0 and
C:Users......AppDataRoamingPoser8.0
I'm just glad something worked.
