Although this is strike plate it is the wrong type of strike plate for this type of latch. The strike plate should be extended and folded around the frame so the actual latch would be pushed into the latch assembly when closing the door.

The type of strike plate shown would be used for a deadbolt type of lock.

@ jfbeute ................ is absolutely correct (see image).

However, in the interest of keeping things simple (ha ha) I cheated and took a shortcut through the strawberry patch ..... it was sort of a strawberry shortcut (ha ha). and just duplicated what we had already created as opposed to creating a "real" (ha ha) strikeplate.ย  It is left as an exercise for the viewer to construct/create a "real" strikeplate if they are inclined to do so. ๐Ÿ˜„

Ok, ok, .... I'll admit this page is just a little bit busy but ...

It's purpose of this page is to show that:

  1. The size of the Document Window does not matter ...
  2. The position of the object and the camera DOES matter ...
    (... that is ... what we see in the window affects how the UVs get "mapped")

Play with it ... practice ... click ... change the view ... click again ... etc.

Play with it ... learn how it works ... ๐Ÿ˜„

Now, let's make some wallpaper for our room ... Next ...

Hey Doc;

Been playing with the wallpaper. I find this perspective UV mapping quite interesting. There was some discussion of it in another thread not long ago. I gave it a cursory glance but passed on as it didn't seem to be something I could use at the time. If I recall correctly the only use the posters had for this technique was to place a background photo on a plane due to the distortion you demonstrated in the images above.
In the first image I just dropped the "wallpaper" on the left wall without the perspective mapping just to confirm my suspicions on texture mapping in general.

parkdalegardener ( ) posted Thu, 29 July 2010 at 12:23 AM

file_456753.jpg

In this one perspective UVs have been applied. I can see where it might take a bit of jiggering to get the pattern lined up but it is obvious that if one wall is mapped this way then all would have to be in order to keep the pattern sized correctly around the room. pdg
