I am new to Vue, recently got two licenses for Vue 8 Infinite, and went through the (very helpful) LVS courses.  Both machines are running 8.5 Infinite, build 52340.  Cameron is Win7 64bit;  Galadriel is Vista 64bit.  Each has a 4.1Gb Quadro FX5800 video card with driver 8.17.11.9703

During a scene build on Cameron, Vue had been rendering test images happily.  At some point, it started crashing whenever I would attempt to render.  It even died when I tried to save an atmo, at the moment when it began the routine rendering of the thumbnail.  The suicide note Vue left behind was the popup stating "This app terminated the [Microsoft Visual C++] runtime in an unusual way..."
Now some of the geometry appears bollixed;  a few are my modeled items and a few are stock ecosystem plants.

Compatibility mode did not help.  I uninstalled Vue, then re-installed and re-applied the 52340 update.  No joy - Vue still dies if I try to render.

Meanwhile, Galadriel opened the same scene file and can render it, albeit with the bollixed geometry.

While building the scene (lots of importing my own OBJs), I frequently did memory purges as Peggy taught, and the resource monitor never dropped below 95% available, even during a "superior" setting render.
I sent a few crash reports to e-on but still haven't heard back from them.

Anyone know how /what to fix?  I'm anxious to get Cameron back in service because she packs a much heavier punch than Galadriel.
