For personal reasons, I decided to stop selling products through Renderosity Marketplace.

Ten years of selling at Renderosity are ending there.

I hope you will be continuing to sell at other venues.

Antaran posted Thu, 22 July 2010 at 5:38 PM

Please let us know whether your products will be available elsewhere. I still have a few in my wishlist and I was really looking forward to getting them.

Sueposer posted Thu, 22 July 2010 at 7:58 PM

I also hope you continue selling elsewhere. I will be looking at the other venues for anything new from you! You have the best shaders anywhere!  :)

Hey, send me news... any idea where you will take your products now??

Any comments you would like to share as to why you are leaving the Renderosity store?

As someone who is looking into outlets for products I'm curious.

If it were my guess, it's the expiration policy for slow selling items. Having to "restock" every time when somebody wants something that hasn't sold in 3 months. (Which is why you have to make sure to backup everything too.) So unless you got something that stays in demand and is hot with the Poser crowd, it takes more effort to keep the inventory up. Other venues don't have that issue.

I can understand why Rendo does it (they don't want a cluttered market), but if your business is more occasional than constant it can be a bit off-putting. You pretty much get backshelved and then dumped. It's why I sell elsewhere too.

Ah well...  At least give a hint where your stuff can be found. If somebody ever asks I don't mind giving directions.

There might be something worth downloading.

Same here as well.  OI sold Carrara content, which is a bit more occasional than Renderosity seems to like.  I finally decided it just wasn't worth the hassle.

Well a quick check of google gave me holyforest website: http://www.holyforest.com/page14/
Stores listed on that site were: DAZ3D, Carrara Expo (dead link) and Carrara Lounge

The DAZ3D link brings you to her products, the Carrara Lounge link is generic link to the site, but I was unable to find a store link there. Maybe GKDantas can help on that one.

Theres no more store in CarraraLounge now. But I was thinking about a new one only for Carrara products, but his need a little investment that I really dont have right now. But I am still looking for a way to open one.

As some of  my friends asked from news, this is what I explained:

Context:
A second dispute (too much) with the admins! (won't give any names)
They havec a 50% brokering rate and deleted half of my products suddenly.
So I decided to stop relationships with the men and women that manage this site.

Conclusions:
I believe that they don't care about supporting Carrara products.
I believe that they just want to develop competencies to capture cash with "Photoshoped Erotic Poser Barbies". (a pity)

Next step:
I'm so sorry for all fans that help me during those 10 years, but I'm so disgusted I didn't make any render or work with Carrara since the last dispute.
I will fix a next sale strategy on september. For now, I've got some products on-sale at DAZ3d....

Thanks to all of you - maybe I wil be banned from the site for this message, that's a risk but I'm not afraid of them.

Kind regards,
Holyforest

Let us know where you'll be selling - I'll be looking forward to buying more of your shaders.

Thanks, but I don't yet have some ideas with Carrara Lounge
I don't think Daz3d wants to support basic Carrara Shaders.
Strange strategy!

I'm sorry that you have not been happy with your treatment here.
Daz may be shifting their support from carrara renderer to daz studio.  is there any way your
work could be adapted to products for use in daz studio, assuming they support export of d|s files
for rendering in blender or luxrender?

Nancy,

DAZ Sudio is less performing than Carrara (Trees, terains, shader tree, and multiple functionalities...).

I don't think they will be shifting to Studio, which is just a rigging softare.

Carrara will be abandoned like Hexagon. What else?

You know, In the begining, I've been drawing "realisic skins" for Vicky and Mike from 1999 to 2003: I was rated in the top 40 of Renderosity vendors. This work became boring, so I tried to find other product lines.

I had then first dispute because of having 2 separate stores (one for Vicky and Mike caracters, one for props or clothes - 2 brands = forbidden).

I came back here in 2005 making Carrara shaders for my pleasure: i was rated in the top 120 of Renderosity vendors with 5 products.

Now, in 2010, I was rated in top 230 vendors (with more than 20 Carrara products which means a hard work).

Believe me, they want only fresh and candid vendors.... (less of troubles for managing vendors)

50% brockering with no marketing or commercial support, that's just utilization of other's work.

This is my opinon ( 10 years of observation). No future...

Hello Holyforest, I am a relatively new user to carrara. I have been searching all over the internet to find some way that I could purchase your (real furs) shader set for carrara. I am in the middle of a project, for which I could desperately use those shaders. Is there any possible way to get them. I love all of the shaders that you have created so far.

Unfortunately I've been in serious troubles with the Renderosity Management team.
Hope you will find the Shaders soon at DAZ or whatever ; )
