  Hi,

I have a quick question. Let me first say I am a total newb when it comes to lighting - I've only been using pre-made sets.

I'm working on an animation that has the camera doing a 360 degrees flyaround, but my lighting is only lighting the front, it doesn't rotate as I move camera. Is there an eas way to accomplish this?

 Thank you very much. :]

HI, try this:

select first light,

if it is INFINITE light then go to its PROPERTIES tab and change light's type to SPOT,

now go to MENU->OBJECT->CHANGE PARENT (or from PROPERTIES tab select SET PARENT button which will appear when you change the light's type)

select camera you want as a parent - and ok

change back light to its original type.

Follow above steps for all lights you want to follow your camera - should work.

For a 360 degree product shot , I would set up lights and camera , and then rotate the product rather than animate the camera.  THis works fine for things like cars or clothes.

If it needs to be a real flyaround then you either need to provide a fairly even 360 light which is not that hard (3 spotlights even placed ) or parent the lights to a ball prop and rotate the ball as you move your camera. (position the ball prop out of camera view above your scene)

I have these as my default lights. Four infinite lights parented to the main camera. That way where ever I look in the preview the subject will always be evenly illuminated.

Hope that helps.
