It is with regret that I will no longer be posting images here at Renderosity!
I realise this is no great loss to the majority but I have always enjoyed great feedback and will be sad to stop getting those metaphorical pats on the back! LOL
I am afraid the current round of non sensical censorship over (so-called) naked Bongs has stretched the bounds of credibility too far! We live in the 21st century, the age of puritanical rage against art is over! How can such humerous, whimsical imagery be deemed as offensive? A small blue alien picking a banana? Let's grow up, let's re grow a sense of humour. I am not poking fun at nationalilties, religions nor being sexist, homophobic nor racist.
I WANTED PEOPLE TO SMILE!!!!
I will leave the images I have but will post no more!
I will continue to be found at Cornucopia3D and on our new Facebook group:
Vue Galleries

Join Wabe and myself for what I hope to be a sensible look at the world of illustration with Vue.
Please have a look and maybe join us?

Why are you all flocking to Facebook? every day I hear a horror story about it.
What's the problem with DeviantArt? people like Dylan Cole use it (see here)...

Alex
deviantart is great for art...but iMHO, it's lousy for being a community
I like chatting with people, on forums, over time, not live, not with immmature idiots (sorry more of a social networking issue not art sites) and not just viewing art.
my 2 cents :)

See you there, Barry, though I share Alex' concerns about Facebook. Since I joined your group, I keep getting invitations from other Vue users. I hope no one will take it personnally, but I won't join any new list . It's not that I don't like them (far from it), but I don't want to spend days managing Facebook pages, and countless emails.

Facebook is what you make of it. You can batton down the hatches and only see what you want to see and only allow the people you wish to share with to see your stuff or everyone or nobody. It's all how you set your privacy settings. You can block offensive users who will not only no longer be visible to you, but you will no longer be visible to them so you can bad mouth them all you want and they'll never see it. Sure beats the heck out of the forums here for friendliness and security!

Last month I was banned from DAZ forums (why? 90% because I dared to write a post in which I stated that 98% of CG pornography is created using Poser content).
After a month, I can say that not being able to post there is saving me a huge amount of time. Currently, I sometimes post in this forum and more often I post on TG2 forum. Nothing else. I am loosing nothing but flame wars. If I need information, Mr. Google is there (just learn a few of the advanced search options). Returning bit by bit in my previous lurker state is really pleasant. I have no need for forums.
Immature idiots? the only cure is a genetically engineered plague which wipes out the human kind.

Most poser porn sucks, however I have seen very good stuff on Renderotica, in terms of art and erotic value.
lol yes forums take up waaay to much time, but for me, since I can't get out much it's most socializing I do, and lots of nice folks around. :)

Why Facebook?
Yes it has it's problems, yes I know there are issues as yet unresolved using FB in such a way. However I am finding a cameradery and "friendliness" there which makes the community feel more accesible and friendly.
It's a new venture and I hope it will develope!!!!

Censorship at Renderosity. This is a complete condradiction considering that fact that 90% of everything i see here, in the marketplace in particular is smut. I only visit here to see some of the less radical art.
ShawnDriscoll posted Wed, 28 July 2010 at 1:00 AM
DeviantART is where the smut is if you're into that sort of thing. Facebook is hardly the place for smut.
LostinSpaceman posted Wed, 28 July 2010 at 4:24 AM
It's not the smut Shawn, it's the aliens that Renderosity is calling Smut that has raised all the fuss! Aliens and toons like Fema Su, Sixus Grey Alien, The Darcassians and even Bong! These figure should under no circumstances require the friggin nudity flag. Period. End of Story. That anyone actually thinks they should require a nudity flag is assinine in the extreme.
vintorix posted Wed, 28 July 2010 at 5:57 AM
If it was ridiculous to ban naked aliens there is even more ridiculous to make a great fuss over it.
But then again either you have sense of proportions or you have not, it can't be teached.
ShawnDriscoll posted Wed, 28 July 2010 at 5:10 PM
@LostinSpaceman: I know. I'm talking smut in general. Not what the released Rendo hounds are flagging everywhere.
LostinSpaceman posted Wed, 28 July 2010 at 11:25 PM
LOL! Well frankly, 99% of my renders are Non-Smut related and it's not what I look for in a gallery but I have works on DA too. The 1% smut I have is on my hard drive only. :tt2:
