LOL ! Well it depends on the rules here.
As said, I  took alot of motion shots, but that was from the car, so actually it is from the opposite POV, so I dont know. It seems not quite as exiting, as the other way around
I can not afford to waste one of my three attempts. ...................................

Not the newest shot, but it was taken about 2 months ago.  Thunder is the most lively thing and I have been practicing action shots on her.  This was my first action shot that came out decent. But more practice was in order!  Fortunately, she never stops moving and I've had plenty of practice since!

whaleman posted Sat, 07 August 2010 at 10:53 PM

Here's my first one. With my grandson visiting, I knew I would catch some action when I took him up to see Abraham Lake, and that's my backup camera he's running with. I have no worries, however, as I believe he's more sure-footed running than I am walking. Of course he's hamming it up in this shot. BTW, he took more photos than I did on this trip, so perhaps it runs in the family.

Wayne

whaleman posted Sat, 07 August 2010 at 10:57 PM

In this one he's not aware that I'm taking photos, he's just running across the rocks. These two sequential shots were as fast as my D300 could take them. It's amazing how quickly the brain plans the next step along with the decisions about where to land next.

I'm coming in late on a lot of great shots!

Skiwillgee, Wonderful capture of a person right smack dab in the middle of a wave.  I love the way the water shows in a clear layer over his head!

Daver, Terrific capture of the moorhen.  Great motion in the wing and super reflections!

PJ, I love all your pictures of Thunder!  She looks so happy in the first one and she moving up a storm in them all.  She's very Twisty, isn't she!

Whaleman, Your pictures of your grandson are a joy to see.
That kind of motion I now enjoy vicariously.  Great captures of his nimbleness.

Mies, Wonderful scene!  The dog looks like he's thinking, "Where you been? Get over here!!"  I love the motion in her coat!

Yes Mario, you can put up to 3 pictures that play into the monthly theme. Hope to see some of yours  now that you've found this area.

Here you see me in 'full action' (LOL)
The photo is taken by my husband.
We had to find our way through the mud.
Hope you like it?

Have a nice day further.

Mario!  So glad to see you posted. These Challenges are so much fun!  I know how tough a bee in flight can be...so difficult that I've never gotten one that worked.  And the flower is also gorgeous.

Mies, did you get the action when you fell off the log into the mud too? LOL  That's great. Puts me on the edge of my seat waiting for what comes next. :-)

@ PJ Then Karel ( my husband) would have had yesterday make pictures of me. I fell 2 times on my butt (in the mud, and very wet plants), when I wanted to take pictures of a spider.
Bye Mies.

Bob I am impressed by the shots of the dancer. They are really beautiful. Brave lady :)

Mario I like so much the flying bee. A really lovely capture and I find it very difficult to take such one myself.

Mies I really love the shot of you trying to keep the balance LOL ! That is really fun and awesome. :-)

Quote - Wow Bob, very interesting shots. She must have really hard callouses on her feet, or no nerve endings!

She put on a really entertaining show. Very dramatic expressions, and with some humor thrown in. Like dancing "over" the glass to start by dancing on one side then jumping over the pile with a big flourish and an ear-to-ear smile. (I got those shots too, but with a three shot limit I had to pick the uploads carefully.)

Instead of hard calluses or dead nerve endings how about running the glass pieces through a tumbler with polishing grit until all the sharp edges are smoothed off? You could still get poked a little, like walking on gravel, but at least there wouldn't be any bloody footprints in the grass.

Bob

Recently, we saw such images here too.
Water, water, and another celestial water.

Also nice to see a bit from where you live.
Cheers,
Mies.

Greetings everyone,
Congratulations to all the authors who have added pictures in these days of my absence. Too bad that I realized recently the existence of these pages, it was fun to participate. In a few days ending on my first year on RR and I will try in future to be more present and to be more curioso.Grazie friends who welcomed me so warmly.

Excellent images Jock!
Wonderful captures of the very familiar wet of south Louisiana! Love the light hitting the wet streets and the splash.
Great idea and capture of ghostly motion!

I look forward to seeing more shots from you here, Mario.  I love your gallery!  Congrats on the first year!

Geeeze, I've missed alot of photos. Gonna have to kick the bot! A whole lot of good action stuff too   :thumbupboth:

I finally got an idea for one, and had a willing participant to do a version of an old nursery rhyme. Although we used a bonfire instead of a candlestick.

Hope I haven't gone over my limit 'cause this one is a triptych....

They say a picture is worth a thousand words...

So where do they go when a photograph leaves you speechless?

Lol i will just be staying on solid ground.
I might just land in the fire if i attempt to jump over the fire.
Outstanding series of captures though.
