Hi,
Is there any way I can create an animated figure in poser 7 on a transparent layer to be imported into After effects.

Render your animation as single frames. If you choose PNG or TIF (or psd) you will get an alphachannel. PNG exports default with the alphachannel as invisible, TIFF has the alpha but it must be selected and removed, and PSD.. depends on the Poser version :)

You just can't put the words "Poserites" and "happy" in the same sentence - didn't you know that? LaurieA
