Oooh neat! With a change of colour this may work for mould or lichen as well

Here's my attempt at lichen. It's a little too bright (had to multiply the shader by .25) and still a little too see-through. Lichen should hide the features a little IMO because it won't grow on a surface smoothly.

Actually, you could use this as a tarnish.
Winterclaw posted Fri, 13 August 2010 at 2:34 PM
Yeah you could, but you'd need to consider removing the P coordinate and probably working in AO so it tarnishes more in tight areas.

Tarnish.. is that when copper gets green? because this looks a lot like that :) I like the effect!
Ajax made a slime shader that is great for putting slime or mould on things. It's in his free shader pack that AFAIK is still available in Free Stuff. Although it's a few years old (made for Poser 5) it's still great. And perhaps you can get some ideas from it to incorporate in this one :) Just an idea of course. This is already great!

I added this to the wiki page.

If you turned it black you could add it to silver items as well for the same effect as on bronze.

One little note, for the people playing around with this, the math function with -4 and 64 controls the bottom and the top of the frost.

I was playing around with this earlier and realized that this could be used to make procedural clouds. With a lot of trial and error I came up with this. Still needs tweaking and it was based off of the first creeping frost shader (the simpler one) so it needs updating as well. Still just wanted to post it as well.

Oh a ward of warning, some of the clouds look flat if they are up close... poser renders them as simple slivers with this shader. Also I can't give the undersides good coloration atm... they should be getting darker underneath but they aren't.
Right now I'm just thankful that I was able to get this far today so I hope you all don't mind the flaws. These are still WIPs.

I have this wonderful prop that was made a couple of years ago called the Depth Cube. It seems that whoever created it has disappeared now. There were going to be updates to it and I think he wanted to create a version to sell in the market place. I wonder if this cloud shader will work on it. I'll have to try it. Thanks so much!
