also it asks me where ground.obj is every time it starts... no clue how to fix that.
anyone know how to fix?

I had this earlier too.
Updating ATI video drivers helped with this so if you have Ati card try updating drivers.
Meanwhile workaround is switching to Sreed instead of opengl preview.

updating drivers did nothing. i have an HD 5870 ATI card in my laptop. i did however find a workaround- simply make a plain black background and import it as background picture- all the buggy graphics happens behind it so you can't see it.
really odd. now if i can just get it to stop asking me for ground.obj lol...

Have you tried changing the preview to Sreed? The visuals at least look like it might be an OpenGL bug of some sort.
