I can see from the many many comments on the poll regarding exe files that people are not getting it....rendo isnt trying to do AWAY with zips, they are adding dmg and exes to zips, which gives the buyer more flexibility.....3 options to choose. If you read all the comments, a lot of people are missing the point that this would actually be a good thing for everyone.
