I decided that I am going to go back to a single runtime that is categorized. Which means I have to move V4 and company from where they are, to the main runtime of my PoserPro install. They currently are in my Poser 7 folder, but i would like to get rid of that while I'm at it.
Any ideas? I did search the forums, but didn't see any specific steps. Just people saying they have it was done before.

Dunno if V4 will move ok, cos of Dazs wierd setup, but what I would do is go to your P7 runtime and zip up the whole folder. You should be able to unzip it into your PPro runtime. Just like a rendo product.

I could try that, but I have everything except for V4 and crew already in my Poserpro runtime, and I would lose any updates by just replacing them.

I wouldn't advice the overwriting of a current runtime with a previous version because that method could totally screwup your Python Script. The best recommendation would be to uninstall, then re-install V4. If you boldy transfer just the V4 files to it's new home, do run the update. Just make certain that the icon is pointing to the new path. Be aware, your saved scenes will still retain the old pathways, so you will eventually need to redirect Poser when it queries for geometry, textures, etc.

The daz readme files contain a flelist for each product. You can use that to identify and move all the v4 files to the new runtime. It may be easier to just reinstall to the new runtime,

Does the new Victoria figure actually contain path statements in front of "Runtime"? I thought most content path statements say 'Runtime:filetype:whateverProvider:item". The whole thing of V4 HAVING to be installed in Poser's main Runtime isn't true. When I installed V4 I created a dummy Poser Runtime with a fake Poser.exe file in it and installed all of the content. Then I moved the goods into my real runtime - with the CR2s in the folders of my choice. Worked fine.
Besides, when connecting to the original Poser 6 Runtime from Poser 7 there are no errors. If Victoria 4 HAS to be installed to the main Poser Runtime then why or how does it work from different versions of Poser? I wish they would just go to a plain ZIP format and trash their annoying installers.

There have been agreements and disagreements about the actual workflow concerning DAZ3D's Generation 4 installation and where it should finally reside. I tend to agree, they could be placed in any runtime an individual desires, as long as model and morph++ package occupy the same folder for correct deltas referencing. The .cr2's do contain relative pathways, however, if you have spawned scenes under the old convention, generating absolute pathways, and, afterwards, upgrade and move content, those pathways within the pz2's will be broken.
You should not encounter too many problems if you link your P6 runtime to P7. My advice, if you are adament about moving content, note an exact inventory of the content in question, copy the content over, then double-check that everything is in working order before deleting the old.
And markschum is correct, there is a list located on the DAZ html readme located within the Poser folder.

Good call, hborre, about better safe than sorry. I do note that the additional morph++ and whatever packages I've installed for V4 ARE in the same runtime as that I placed the V4 geometry and CR2s. But DAZ changed things somewhere along the line with a 'DAZ People' figure folder and a 'DAZPeople' figure folder (or something like that - changed by one or two letters) and RATHER than have multiple DAZ figure folders I lumped all of the default, naked, figures into ONE DAZ People folder.
Usually not a big deal to move the content around in the libraries folders. Smith Micro or e-frontier DID start putting the object files right in the same folder as the characters and that might break something if moved.
Paths in old scene files will certainly be broken if content is moved. In that case Poser gives you the option of pointing out where all of the old goodies are moved to. A real pain but possible to do ...
What a hobby.

DAZ's Gen 4 figures only need to be in Poser's primary runtime in Poser 6. Poser 6 cannot read the scripts that the new morph system use if they are not in its runtime.

Well, that's nice to know. I tried to move them when I got Poser 7, and had all sorts of errors. That's why I was thinking it was a problem still. I may try to move them after i back everything up. The real trick will be the python scripts (unrelated).
