How well does Daz work on Windows 7? I am about to get the pro edition-i think- but if it does not work well with Win 7 I will have to reconsider. I need a good all round program to create landscapes, buildings and figures, and Daz seems to fit the bill. Bryce ,Carrera and Poser seem to have the types of things I am interested in. I tried the free version of Daz  using Vista, and it worked ok, but my laptop has Win 7 and I would like to do all my work on it. Any advice would be appreciated.

DAZ Studio works fine, Carrara seems OK though I have less experience with it and the same with Bryce. With any laptop, it's important to check that it fully supports a high enough version of OpenGL (1.5 is the requirement, but I'd suggest you want at least version 2 for safety).

Hello **dragonhuff,

Yes as Richard already stated, Daz Software runs just fine in Windows 7.
In fact I personally have had no problems with any apz working on that operating sytem.
Never, tried Daz Advanced on my lappy though.

Which version of Win 7 32bit or 64,  both work well.  With the 32bit version of Win 7 you are limited to 4 gigs of ram on the 64bit it will use all the ram you can afford.  The same goes for Daz Studio the 32bit version has a ram limitation but the optitex dynamic cloth plugin will only work in 32bit Studio.  The 64bit version of Studio advanced works great in Win 7 64bit, but you can run 32bit studio in Win7 64bit.  Studio 64bit and Win7 64bit is not faster it just allows those of us with more than 4 gigs of ram to use the extra memory to better advantage; ie I can load larger scenes with more models without the program running out of ram. If you are more into gaming and ocasional render or two and have less than 4 gigs of ram stay with Win 7 32bit.  If you are into 3D in a big way and have more than 4gig of ram go Win 7 64bit.

Hope this helps
