You'll have to rotate the bottom terrain right way up, then populate, then rotate it again.
One consequence of this is that you'll need to use seperate EcoSystem materials on each half so that you can populate seperately.

Or paint them on? rotated/saves seperate plants first though perhaps??
never tried that yet so I don't know :)

I did a few tests, and I've come up with a workaround that works.
Now: Duplicate the terrain. Flip the duplicate (IN PLACE!) round the vertical axis. Populate both as desired. Rotate the duplicate 180 degr. Group them for easy handling.

thanks... man.. this is what i did... painting didnt work... so i think fliping it is the only 1 thing.
